3 days 'til launch.

The launch is on Friday and we have work to do. State your status, what needs to be done, and current goals for the rover and your team. If you are an EDL member, can you do what this rover did?

  1. I worked with the EDL group yesterday, and they still have to attach the heat shield. From what I know the other groups were attaching the instruments we will be needing.

  2. The MFO programming is done. The magnetic sensor is up and running. The only thing we still need to do is to test the rover with the programming for the magnetic sensor.

  3. Entry Decent and Landing can replicate the capsule, but it can't do what the Rover actually did. So far we had completed the heat shield, attached it and are finishing the Parachute. Tomorrow we will finish the parachute and help the other teams finish their parts.

  4. I am part of the EDL team and we still have to attach the heat sheild. We are planning to use styrofoam and hot glue to attach it to the capsule. We also have to finish our parachute. We are going to use a garbage bag and fishing line. I am hoping our rover will do the same as the one in the video.

  5. I am on the AOA team and we had to worry about the Touch Sensor. This really wasn't that big of a deal only because the Touch Sensor was the smallest instrument on the Rover.

  6. On Tuesday we had to fix the Video Communications teams Ipod mount. They had to figure out how to get the Ipod mount not to be over the orange button. Then the rover was wobbly, we finally fixed the wobble. F.Colosi-MFO

  7. As of right now the VCom was very sucessful and has got the IPod mount on the rover and have replacements on hand. Hopefully all goes well with the future Rover projects just like ours did.

  8. I am part of the Entry Decent and Landing team. We can replicate the capsule, but we can not exactly duplicate what the rover did. So far we have completed the heat shield. We are currently planning on attaching the heat shield with hot glue.

  9. The iPod mounts were having an issue staying on. Also, the rover was not very sturdy. That was fixed by rebuilding the rover a bit and some teamwork. Currently the small wheel is being fixed.

  10. I am on the AOA team and we had to worry about the touch sensor and it's size. But it wasn't a bad problem because the touch sensor was the smallest of the instruments.

  11. I am part of the EDL team and we are going to attach the heat shield. We are going to make it out of styrofoam and use hot glue to attach it to the capsul. We also are going to finish our parochoute which will be made of a garbage bag and fishing line. I hope that the rover is successful like in the video. K laviola, EDL
